We are living in an era of complex supply chains and just-in-time approach in logistic processes. We also have increasing tourist traffic. Both trends are leading to an increasing need for smooth transport processes. However many external factors are not in control of the transport company. Amongst extreme weather conditions we also have a lack of parking space as a general challenge. Therefore we need solutions that minimise the impact of those unpredictable circumstances and identify free parking space to give the transport industry an additional benefit.

Since July 2019 the Jade academy is doing research into the field of optimising the resource planning of transport and route planning of transporting companies and long-distance coaches. They also take weather forecasts and identified available parking spaces into account.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport (BMDV) within the scope of the research initiative modernity fund (mFUND) for three years.
